Week 25 Weigh in

Stayed the same this week. So down 40 total.
Not a big surprise seeing I had one heck of a week!

So, I had to go clothes shopping again yesterday. I spoke about my last outing here. I needed to pick up some fall clothes. It's getting chilly around here. Off I go to find myself some new pants. I hit the shop and was pleased to find a plethora of choices for me!  Every pair of pants I liked came in my size!  I was beside myself with joy.

That is, until I got home. I was very excited to try on my new clothes. I bought two pairs of jeans. One was a little out of my "style" range. Meaning, they were a little "young" for me but I thought, "what the heck!". The other pair was closer to a regular old-fashioned pair of jeans. OK, so, what is it with clothing manufactures of plus-sized clothing?  They apparently don't have weight issues of their own and/or don't use "models" to try the clothing. My goodness!  I looked like a clown!  Even my husband got a chuckle. Of course he said I could probably fix them. He's probably right but I just don't want to add that to my to-do list. Needless to say, I am off shopping again today - right after I finish cleaning the house.

Speaking of the house. It's so nice to have everything back in some semblance of order. My house has been chaos with all the sickness and injuries and crap of this week. I am glad we are in the weekend. I do however, feel bad for my husband. He was supposed to head to NYC with my eldest for some "guy time" at the Maker Faire. With the injury to his foot, he just wasn't able to make the drive.  It's always a bummer to have plans squashed by injuries and illness. Such-as-life, I guess.

Have a great weekend!  I best get back to the cleaning and then SHOPPING!

Clothes

I hate clothes shopping. Well, for me anyway. It's been something that I cringe about when I have to do it. The stores I can shop at - not too many - have a very small selection for my size. And when I actually do find something that is in my size, I usually find something wrong with it. For instance, I find that a lot of manufacturer's find it funny to make large people look old and frumpy. I am not old. Although, I am starting to look rather frumpy, more on that in a bit. For pants, the waist is usually fine but the legs are ginormous, making me look like a clown. Tops? The necklines are tough because they make them so big, the girls practically pop out. (hubs likes that) Coats?  Forget about it. They are the worst. Arms are always 4 inches too long, the shoulders are too big, but the waist hardly fits.

See why I hate shopping?

But guess what? I HAD to go shopping this weekend. My clothes are getting to be way too big for me. Thus the frumpy look I was referring to. I've been putting it off because summer is coming to a close and I didn't want to spend money on new stuff that I won't be wearing for very long. Then I really thought about it. I've been starting to feel like a slob in most of my clothes because they are getting so big. And we typically are still in capris and or shorts well into October. Off I go to the shops....

I hit the clearance rack and almost enjoyed it. I found a lot more to choose from in my new size....down 2 sizes!  It's such a great feeling!! I am looking forward to being able to shop in places like Old Navy in the not-so-distant future. The thought of being able to just walk into any old store and pick something off the rack is so encouraging!
